LA MITE, LEGGENDO DOSTOEVSKY (2014) 14':57''

The story opens with the narrator facing the lifeless body of his wife laid out on a table. He attempts to make sense of the situation and find out (by reviewing what has happened in the past) why on earth this woman is dead?

La Mite is an experimental short film, based on “The Gentle Spirit” by Dostoevsky. The film uses photography as a cinematic material; additionally by using a combination of photography and fixed videos intends to maintain the narrative concentration on the sonorous part of the story, so the suppressed expressive potentiality of the fixed images in La Mite makes the visual part of the narration passive enough to keep the whole dramatic weight on the voice-overs, sound effects and cinematic soundscape.

The film has been participated in Screening in Phoenix Film Festival Melbourne (2016), Creative International Open Film Festival (IOFF), Bangladesh (Semi-finalist/Best Country Award selection-2016), Goldensun Short Film Festival, Malta (Official selection- 2016) and has been screened in Berlinutte Art space ,Berlin, Germany (2015) and cinema Eden Arezzo, Italy (2015).
